You always wear...

I was eating lunch with my co-worker today, and after we ate we pulled out our mirrors to scan our lipstick situation. Everyone has their "specific" way of application, a routine they fall in to. I mentioned to my friend..."you always choose deep lipsticks with lots of pigment." She agreed, and her reasoning was she felt her skin was too pale and the lipstick evened her coloring out. As she applied her Estee Lauder tube, I began to pull our my nude trio and proceeded to perfect my look.

I have an assortment of lipsticks, but my colors seem to be in 4 categories: Nudes, vibrant to pale pinks, bold reds, and deep burgundy.

My top brands: MAC, YSL, Smashbox

I also have: Dior, Lancome, and Bobbi Brown

"YSL" Lipstick in Pale Pinks and Vibrant Reds looks great on this gal, writer of Atlantic Pacific
"BOLD orange" comes to mind for Alicia writer of Cheetah is the New Black
When I think of Taylor, writer of Sterling Style I think "bright pink" lips.

What are your favorite colors and brands? Do your girlfriends relate a certain "color" to you?

If you work hard, you will be rewarded. It may be tough some days, and you will want to give up...but hang in there!!!! I have given up so many gatherings, trips, and days at the beach...and looking back I am so thankful I put my time in to learn and work hard. Right now I feel so blessed. My future is unclear, but the glimpses I have had these past few months give me a strong feeling I am going to be LOVING my summer. I am prepared and determined to have the best summer of my life...everything is coming together. It took a while...sigh, lots of tears, sweat, and swollen little feet...but my dreams are coming true.

A look into my bathroom...

Do you read Vogue? Lately, I have been buying magazines at the grocery store. It is quite pricey, so I am considering giving in and getting a yearly subscription. I also really like Allure, they have sooo many cosmetic reviews!

1. L'Occitane Almond Shower great for dry skin, and for shaving. I was scared to venture into a "oil" body cleanser...but it was really nice. I enjoyed the product more when I applied it dry and than rinsed's scent blends well with the Creme De Corps.

2. Kiehl's Creme De Corps body moisturizer has healed my dry skin! I really enjoy how "oily" it feels without a residue after application. It is full of cocoa butter and sesame oil! Great for men too!! Read more about this line here.

3.Ever fill overwhelmed with your options in the self-tanning section?? Ever felt like you didn't really see a difference...or worse-you turned ORANGE!!!? I have had my fair share of bronzing accidents. I don't usually use Lancome, but I am always down to try something once. I fell in love with their Flash Bronzer. It has a natural carmel extract, with a pearl finish. It is also full of antioxidants-so it was hydrating as well!

5.Vegans please pay attention :) Try Dr. Dennis Gross' EXTRA strength Alpha Beta Peels! First, I use my regular face remover...and than Step 1...and than Step 2. Step 2 tingles a bit...which I liked, because I knew it was exfoliating! *It reduced my acne, and made my skin glow the next morning!

6. After exfoliating...always use a SPF. You don't want to repeat the damage you just got rid of! Clarins "Sun Wrinkle Control" is a light weight, comfortable texture. It does not smell, and it is fine to layer with makeup.

7. Laura Mercier's Lip Glace in Bon Bon is a great coral for Summer. It has a yummy vanilla flavor, and a light texture.

8. Neutral nails always make the skin look more tan...I just painted mine in preparation for Vegas with Chanel's Django. (Read here to learn how to make your at home manicure last longer than normal) I'm hoping I get pleanty of Vitamin D this weekend!

Ok, now I need to go pack!! Stay tuned for pictures from my trip!

No more greasy, creasy eyelids!

Every woman needs a quality eye shadow primer. I feel like I have a new favorite primer every year... so this year I choose Lancôme's 'Aquatique' Waterproof EyeColour Base ($24.50). It absorbs oil to eliminate movement or creasing at the end of a fabulous night. To get the most out of this eyeshadow primer, use your finger to warm the product up with a circular motion, than apply to entire eyelid and under brow. There is no color so this will work for any skin tone: however, it will fade a small amount of discoloration on the eyelid. Another option, is to next apply MAC's paint pot in painterly ($16.50) over the primer. Paint pots are highly pigmented eye colors that go on creamy but dry to an intense, vibrant finish. Use a cream shadow brush to apply MAC's paint pot. The reason I suggest Painterly, is because it will eradicate all purple, blue or green in eye lid...therefore letting your powder shadows show off their true colors! Painterly is a nice trick for a lazy day to quickly give your eyes a pick me up. It is not necessary to use both products, so test out one at first, play around with it to see what you really need.

Let me know how long your shadow lasts after using these products!
